Training in Counselling Studies Certificate CST-L3

Welcome to the CPCAB Counselling Studies CST-L3 Course.

This course is the next step to becoming a counsellor. You will have already completed the CPCAB Counselling Skills or similar and would be looking to learn more about counselling theory and agency work. By the end of the course you will not be a qualified counsellor, but may consider progression on to the CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. You will need to be 19 years of age or over, to study this qualification.

Learning aims for this course:

• Prepare to work within an ethical framework for counselling
• Understand the counselling relationship
• Understand difference and diversity issues to develop empathic understanding
• Work within a user-centred approach to counselling
• Use counselling theory to develop self-awareness in counselling practice 
• Understand theories of counselling and mental health.
• Use feedback, reflection and supervision to support counselling studies.
